Divisions

Below is a list of divisions you can select from and receive additional information.

  • Appeals

    A non-prevailing party in a case may ask a higher court to review the decision in their case and determine if the decision was correct.

  • Civil

    A civil matter involves a lawsuit in which one party sues another to recover money, real property or personal property, to enforce a contract or an obligation, to collect damages for injury or to protect some civil right.

  • Court Records

    California Rules of Court provide the public with reasonable access to court records for viewing and copying.

  • Criminal

    Criminal cases range from relatively minor offenses such as traffic infractions to serious ones such as robbery and murder.

  • Eviction/Unlawful Detainer

    An unlawful detainer lawsuit is a suit brought by a landlord to obtain possession of rented property and receive payment of back rent.

  • Family Law

    Superior Court has programs that provide limited services in family law: Family Custody Services and Family Law Facilitator.

  • Jury Services

    The right to trial by a jury is the privilege of every person in the U.S. This right is guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. Jurors are essential to the administration of justice.

  • Juvenile

    In California, as in all states, there is a separate court system for persons under the age of 18, who are known as minors or juveniles.

  • Mental Health

    Encompasses the legal areas of psychiatric evaluations, treatments, investigations, hearings and trials relating to involuntary detentions.

  • Probate

    The Probate Clerk handles decedents' estates, guardianship of minors, and conservatorship of adults who are unable to provide for their personal needs or manage their financial resources.

  • Small Claims

    Small Claims is a court where you can exercise your rights to resolve a dispute that does not exceed $12,500 and is resolved quickly and inexpensively with relatively simple and informal rules.

  • Traffic/Minor Offenses
